Release dates for Motorola Calgary and Morrison

We wouldn’t say we’re so  much surprised as we are …. in awe. We talked a while ago about rumors circulating about Motorola’s proposed Android phones known as the Calgary and Morrison and now it looks like they may actually surface as real and tangible phones you can actually buy without just hearing about them and never seeing anything materialize.

The Wall Street Journal came across information saying that T-Mobile will get one of the devices. More after the break.

One will be a touchscreen device with a slide-out keyboard. It will be your standard Android smartphone, but the WSJ says it will be heavy on the Facebook and Twitter. Word on the street has this device pegged as the Morrison and we think we’ll see it near the end of the year.

The Calgary looks like it may be headed for Verizon, with a similar design to the Morrison. We don’t have too much more other than we expect to see it out near the end of the year as well. Good for Motorola. Now there is still a chance this could be a ridiculous flop and we’ll either never see the phones or they’ll die the same quick death other Motorola phones have had in the recent past … but we’re rooting for Motorola. Nothing like a good Android phone to get our sentimental, underdog patriotism rolling … or something along those lines.
