Acer announced an affordable price and impressive New Aspire Laptops

While the model name Aspire usually conjures up images of netbooks, Acer’s line of Aspire laptops has always been a good choice for those who want something over 12 inches. But Acer’s recently announced additions to the Aspire line are almost enough to make us forget about netbooks altogether.

The most tempting laptop is the Aspire AS5739G, which has a pretty incredible spec to price ratio for a laptop. It includes all the following for $750:

  • 15.6-inch LED LCD display (1366×768)
  • 2.1GHz Core2 T6500 Duo processor
  • 4GB of DDR3 RAM
  • Nvidia GeForce GT130 graphics card (1GB of onboard memory)
  • 8x Blu-ray drive
  • 250GB hard drive
  • Dolby 5.1 output
  • Fingerprint recognition
  • Multitouch trackpad

That is an impressive spec list to be priced at $750. This should certainly be a big seller; I mean, c’mon, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a nice graphics card (maybe not the greatest for gaming, but still more than useful)? That’s pretty good.

The other two additions to the Aspire line are no slouches either. In fact, they’re all pretty slick deals for the hardware you get, even if they don’t have quite the horsepower of the AS5739G.

Acer Aspire AS5536 ($480)

  • 15.6-inch display
  • AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor
  • 3GB of DDR2 RAM
  • ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics
  • 320GB hard drive

Acer Aspire AS7735Z ($600)

  • 17.3-inch display
  • Pentium T4200 processor
  • 4GB of DDR3 RAM
  • Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card
  • 250GB hard drive
